Your Health, How You Feel, And How You Look: More Within Your Control Than You Think

Are you proactive about your own health and wellness? Or do you go about your lifestyle without any real attention to your health and wellness, accept the doctor’s diagnosis (if and when you see the doctor), and then medicate per the doctor’s prescriptions? It seems a prevalent attitude these days that if symptoms can be controlled by medication, then there’s nothing wrong – you’re still “well”, still “healthy” – and there’s nothing to worry about. Many of the conditions now commonly diagnosed in the U.S. can be prevented – or reversed – by a healthy diet and by exercise.

Some of the most common wellness issues are: lack of exercise or insufficient exercise, poor diet, stress, inadequate sleep, excessive sun exposure, tobacco use, drug use (including prescription drug overdependence and abuse), alcohol abuse. Are you proactive in these areas?

Do you pay more attention to the condition of your car or the roof of your house or to your garden or your lawn than you do to the condition of your mind and body?

First, inform/educate yourself. Then, take action (i.e., be proactive). It’s your body, your mind, your life. One source of education and information is my eBook, “Age Re-Defined”. It addresses exercise, fitness, nutrition, wellness, the mind-body connection, and more.  You can read more about my eBook here:

There are many quality online sources. There are many quality exercise professionals out there. Robert Henry Fitness provides in-person and online services. Visit the Services pages on this website. Contact us for more information.

But the point is: Be proactive about your own health and wellness. Ultimately, you must be the one to adopt a proactive lifestyle – one involving frequent exercise, healthy nutrition, adequate sleep, and an awareness of basic wellness considerations. (A good trainer or coach can help you get there and that is the goal of Robert’s services.) Your health, how you feel, and how you look are more within your control than you think. Be proactive. The benefits are priceless.
